
CHELSEA NIELSEN
Club Director
Chelsea has been a head coach with the Killam Spartans since the 2019 club season, and has been the club director since 2021. Prior to that, she coached U15 club volleyball with the Strathmore Chaos Volleyball club. She has also coached Senior High Girls in Cardston, and is currently the coach of the Junior High girls at Killam Public School along with Candace.

Chelsea was a member of the Killam Spartans Volleyball Club from 2005-2007, and her team won the 2006 Division 1 Provincial Championship.

Chelsea is a teacher at Killam Public School. In addition to coaching and directing club volleyball, she plays competitive volleyball twice a week, and enjoys skiing, bicycling, and traveling.

CANDACE MACKINNON

JENNA DOCKSTEADER
Coach
Jenna has been coaching with the Killam Spartans since 2025. She has helped coach other teams in the past and co-ran a volleyball camp in the 2023 summer.

Jenna started playing volleyball in junior high at Killam Public School, with Chelsea as her coach. She played all the way throughout high school at CHSPS, along with club volleyball from U15 - U18 with the Killam Spartans.
​
Jenna grew up in Killam and has recently finished school at Red Deer Polytechnic. She enjoys being active and outside with her dogs.
Candace has been coaching with the Killam Spartans since 2021. She has also coached the Senior High Girls at Central High in Sedgewick, and coaches the Killam Junior High Girls volleyball team with Chelsea.
Candace grew up in Killam, playing school volleyball at KPS and then at Central High where the high school team won Provincials in 1999. She was a member of the Spartans from 1995-1997. Candace played her 17U and 18U club years in Edmonton with NAVC and finished her competitive volleyball experience with the Grant MacEwan Griffins in 2001.

Candace studied Agriculture Business Management at the University of Alberta and currently farms with her husband and three daughters outside of Killam. In addition to coaching volleyball, she also volunteers with the local minor hockey association and her daughters' 4-H club.
